31 Things to Do in July: Sponsored by FVL Schools

July things to do

Summer is in full swing here in Northeast Wisconsin! We’ve been on the hunt for all of the family-friendly things you can do around the area to enjoy during this glorious time of year. Here is our round up of things to do this month that are FREE or inexpensive for your family!

  1. Celebrate America’s Birthday with fireworks. Communities around the Fox Valley are lighting up the sky this weekend from big to small!
  2. See a movie outside! Appleton’s Movie on the Hill is back with dates throughout the 2022 summer. Take advantage of open canoeing, held on the beautiful Appleton Memorial Park Pond immediately preceding Movie on the Hill nights, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Canoes, oars, and personal floatation devices are provided. There are family movies in and around the Fox Valley hosted by communities and mostly FREE for families!
  3. Check out Einstein’s Sandbox, a free mobile creativity lab bringing projects to area parks and public schools. See our calendar for upcoming dates and information.
  4. Take a day trip to beautiful Downtown Madison for some great family fun and adventure in our Capital City. If you visit on a Wednesday, be sure to stick around for the Madison Chamber Orchestra’s Concerts on the Square which are returning this year! You can bring a picnic dinner (or purchase one from the many food trucks), set out a blanket, and enjoy a musical summer’s evening together.
  5. Ride the FREE downtown Appleton trolley this summer with your family! If you ride on a Saturday, it’s a perfect time to visit the Appleton Farmer’s Market, as well.
