November is here! We’re looking forward to the holidays more than ever this year. Decorating, planning meals, thinking about gifts…it’s all a nice distraction from current events. Is anyone else thinking about getting a tree up a little earlier than usual? 

We’ve rounded up some fun things to do this month in Northeast Wisconsin, from Oshkosh to Appleton to Green Bay (and beyond) for your family!

Things to Do in November for Kids & Families

  1. Learn more about Dia de los Muertos, celebrated through November 2nd, as a family!
  2. VOTE! On November 3rd, be sure to vote in our election if you haven’t already. No need to worry about not being registered, you can take care of that at the polling place!
  3. Thank you for your service, Veterans! Get a FREE meal or treat on November 11th to celebrate your day. 
  4. Pick up FREE books and a popcorn snack from Wenzel’s Words and/or donate to help stock families’ shelves in our community.
  5. 3…2…1…Blast off! Watch NASA and SpaceX launch four astronauts off on Saturday, November 14, 2020. 
  6. Spread some happiness around with these ideas for 30 Acts of Kindness!
  7. Volunteer to help get meals to folks in our community for Thanksgiving.
  8. Sign up to run or volunteer in Festival Foods Turkey Trot!
  9.  If you’ve found yourself missing Home Depot’s monthly workshops for kids, they’ve got a variety of virtual project guides to scratch the DIY itch.
  10. Make a plan for your very unprecedented times Thanksgiving dinner. Not a turkey master? Try an awesome take out option from one of these are restaurants. 
  11. The Building for Kids is offering a fantastic opportunity to explore the museum safely. Make a reservation to check out a group of exhibits with only the members of your household! 
  12.  Spend time thinking about how you will plan a COVID Safe Thanksgiving with tips from our friends at ThedaCare.
  13. Get your letter to Santa ready to email or drop off to Appleton Parks and Rec! 
  14. Make plans to volunteer as a family this holiday season!
  15. Support your local school district’s lunch program by participating in the FREE meal pick up made possible by USDA grants.

  26. The North Pole opens at its new location in Chilton on November 27, 2020. There are limited spots available for semi-private viewing to allow for plenty of physical distance.
