The Santa Float visits Neenah and Menasha every year. This route begins on Monday, November 28, 2022, and runs through Friday, December 9, 2022.
Dating back to 1950, the original idea for the Santa Float came from Fire Chief John Zick as a gift to area children who were quarantined in their homes due to the polio epidemic.
Part of the tradition is the sirens and lights that lead the float, used to alert children that Santa is coming!
The float runs with the help of off-duty Neenah Menasha Fire and Rescue firefighters.
If you don’t live on the Santa float route, call up a friend or visit a business or local park on the route, we made notes on some of the days. Predicting the time may be a challenge, but each map has mile markers noted, and a Santa Tracker, added last year, can help you track the float down.
Routes begin at 5:30 and last about 2 or 2 1/2 hours. Make it a fun scavenger hunt to find Santa, and check out some holiday lights!
