How We Make This List

This list of where to see lights is crowd-sourced from reader comments. We need your help!

  • We ask on Facebook for recommendations, if someone tells us there is a great display at X address, we will include it. We can’t drive around to every location to verify a light display, and what some people think is worth-the-drive display, others might not want to bother with, so please use our list with that in mind. We try to include details and pictures to help as well!
  • If you do find something we should add to our list email us at Want to share an update with us or add your home? Submit here.
  • Generally, lights start after Thanksgiving.
  • We will be updating the list all month long. (Printable list coming early December).

Tips for looking for Christmas Lights

  • Bring your light viewing to the next level! Check out these 3D glasses here.
  • Pack a bag of non-perishable foods in your trunk to donate to collections at shows.
  • Wear your holiday jammies. Bring a blanket to get extra cozy.
  • Pack fun snacks. We like popcorn, hot chocolate with marshmallows, candy canes and cookies!
  • Print out a scavenger hunt and use clipboards with a book light or flashlight.
  • Visit on weeknights to avoid long waits at music light shows.
  • Be respectful of neighbors, don’t block driveways. Avoid turning around in driveways.

      • This year, they’ll be raising money for Mya Hernandez and her family. At age 14, Mya was diagnosed with progressive scoliosis and ataxia (poor muscle control), and underwent an 8 hour spinal fusion surgery. She spent a week in children’s recovery. Afterward, she went through many tests and procedures to find the root cause of her ataxia. At age 15, she received a diagnosis of Friedreich’s Ataxia, also known as FA.
      • FA is a rare, debilitating, life-shortening, degenerative neuro-muscular disorder that damages the nervous system. Over time, there is a loss of muscle control, coordination, and strength, as well as problems with the heart and sensory organs. Currently there is no cure for FA, although there are many treatments in various trial stages, including one currently awaiting FDA approval.
      • Mya is involved in a few clinical trials that require visits to various research hospitals throughout the Midwest area. She continues to have regular visits, procedures, and tests with her team of doctors to monitor the progression of the disease. She currently can walk short distances with assistance, but her legs can give out at any time without notice. She utilizes a manual wheelchair to minimize falls and fatigue. She’s now in her senior year and has been accepted to the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point where she will pursue a degree in Social Work.
      • Mya lives right in Wisconsin Rapids and is the oldest of 5 children.
      • Money raised will help to cover her medical bills, home accessibility improvements, assistive devices, and future drug costs assuming FDA approval happens. More than anything, the family asks for prayers that the clinical drugs developed will be approved by the FDA soon.
      • More information about FA can be found at the website
