Bay Shore County Park – A Hidden Gem en Route to Door County

Pirate ship wooden playground at Bay Shore Park in New Franken

Bay Shore Park, a Brown County Park, is a hidden gem that’s en route to Door County, north of Green Bay off Highway 57 in New Franken, Wisconsin. It’s a great spot to run off energy, stretch your legs, catch a sunset or dip your toes in the water. The park is just a 10-minute drive from the Wequiock Falls waterfall. The tall mature trees make it a cool spot for a picnic on hot summer days too! Catch the lake breeze from a bench swing with dramatic views of the Bay of Green Bay from the top ledge.

Scenic hiking trails follow the ledge of the escarpment and rock formations down to a beach, dock, pier, and boat landings.

The trails are not stroller or little kid-friendly. The trail is gravel and sloped (110 feet of grade change) with steep edges and many stairs to the beach. It’s not a long walk but fun and engaging for school-aged kiddos—the trail access the beach and boat landings. The waterfront is also accessed by following the road and signage to the boat landing near the park’s main entrance.
