One of our favorite things to do in Green Bay, The Green Bay Botanical Garden, has 47 acres to explore, with 85,000 plants to see from Wisconsin and around the world! The garden has been a staple in Green Bay for nearly 25 years. Open year-round, there is something unique and special during all seasons. We have so many gardens in Wisconsin, and this one is one of the best!
It features various themed gardens and collections, including a rose garden, herb garden, perennial garden, and amphitheater. The garden also includes a visitor center, a woodland preserve, field trips, and educational opportunities for visitors of all ages. It is a popular destination for nature and garden lovers, and with this year’s expanded children’s area, it is the perfect destination for families.
The Bell Children’s Garden
The Bell Children’s Garden opened in May of 2023. The 2.5-acre outdoor wonderland connects nature, play, and learning, and creates a garden experience for the whole family.
The Bell Children’s Garden increased the space from half an acre to 2.5 acres and now offers a wide variety of new features, including a Rain Drop Garden, Wetland Deck, Lily Pad Splash Play, Tree Houses, Cave Play, and so much more.
The space also includes a slide tower surrounded by Mr. McGregor’s Garden, a children’s maze, and a koi pond.

The space sparked conversations about nature and play and was so much fun!
The Bell Children’s Garden is open year-round and is included with regular admission. Check their website calendar for special events, including storytimes, princess days, magic shows, and more.
Tips
- Pack lunches or snacks. Food is permitted in the Garden. However, the Garden does not provide trash bags and/or receptacles for the removal of trash. Please carry out what you have carried in.
- NO beverage carry-in policy – this includes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Bags and coolers may be searched, and you may be asked to return items to your vehicle. Guests may bring in empty water bottles or other empty beverage containers to use for refills.
- The park is very wagon and stroller friendly.
- Save on your ticket price by purchasing in advance. Buying your ticket(s) online saves you $1 per ticket and time!
- Breastfeeding is welcome in all areas. There is no separate lactation area but seating is available in the lower level of the Fischer Visitor Center and throughout the Garden. If you need a more private space, just ask at the visitor’s center.
- Changing stations are available in all restrooms in the Fisher Visitor Center and in the Concessions Building.
- Pick up a map in the Visitors Center and follow the signs.
PRO TIP: Make sure to visit during the holidays! One of the BEST Christmas lights in Green Bay is the WPS Garden of Lights.
