Community Spotlight: Meet Whistler’s Run & Rescue in De Pere

There is a new(er) animal rescue in the area, and if you haven’t had the opportunity to learn more about it, you are truly missing out!

Whistler’s Run & Rescue, nestled in De Pere, is the brainchild of sisters Lauren and Alissa. Their journey from an equestrian boarding facility to a sanctuary for all creatures, great and small, is a testament to their passion and dedication, which you can feel in every corner of this place.

Animals at the barn include horses, goats, pigs, sheep, donkeys, and more! You’ll likely be greeted by the dogs as soon as you arrive. We LOVED the attention to their home all of these animals had. Each door of their pen had information about the animals, including their name, behaviors, background information, and quirks.

Private Tours are available for small groups, including 4-H, scouts, and field trips, to meet their animals and learn about their animal advocacy and rescue efforts.

Check out one of these fun monthly events!

  • Weekend at Whistler’s – With coffee in hand, visitors are invited for a casual morning on the farm. The event follows an Open House style, featuring rescue animals, 42 acres of trails, and the accompaniment of a strolling musician.
  • Shorty Saturdays – Parents and children are invited to the farm for a morning at the farm with the animals.

Tickets must be purchased in advance.
