The mission of the Miracle League is “Every Child Deserves a Chance to Play Baseball”. The Miracle League of the Fox Valley is part of the National Miracle League Association. There are over 300 Miracle Leagues in the U.S. and seven of them are here in Wisconsin!
The 9th season of Miracle League baseball is underway and this summer the league consists of 16 teams with over 190 athletes and close to 300 community volunteers. Games are 2 innings long. Everyone hits, everyone gets on base and everyone scores.
Each athlete is paired with a volunteer buddy. This pairing gives parents the opportunity to be a spectator vs. a participant. The volunteer assists the athlete with batting, fielding, and getting around the field as much – or as little as needed. The result of this pairing is baseball fun and a fabulous friendship. Volunteers need to be at least 13 years old.
The accessible field, The John Wollner Fox Cities Miracle League field and facilities are located in the baseball complex at Memorial Park (1620 E. Witzke Blvd.) in Appleton. Games are played on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm. The league season began in June and runs through August. Join us for a game this summer and become a fan of the Miracle League!
