USS Constitution Facebook Live July 4 Celebration

Saturday, July 4, 2020, 10 am – 12:30 pm

USS Constitution Facebook Live is a full series of live events that will run approximately three hours and will include a 21-gun salute, tours of the ship, climbing demonstrations, boarding pike drills, 19th-century gun drills, and a public trivia contest, giving viewers a chance to win one of 21 saluting battery rounds fired from the ship.

July 4th at the National Archives

Saturday, July 4, 2020, 10 am – 4 pm

July 4 at the National Archives includes online programming, educational opportunities, and a special presentation of the traditional reading ceremony. Features include Thomas Jefferson, Abigail Adams, John Dunlap and Dorothy Hancock. Programs also include printable coloring sheets, activities, crafts and recipes to download. Also check out a special discussion for kids with Brad Meltzer and famous illustrator Chris Eliopoulos as they talk about their Ordinary People Change the World book series. They will take questions and Chris will show kids some fun interactive drawing activities.

Tribute to the American Spirit Concert

Saturday, July 4, 2020: 3 pm

Tribute to the American Spirit is a collaboration between the National Harbor, The U.S. Air Force Band and Washington Performing Arts for a special online live streaming concert. Special guest artists include Joshua Bell, Larisa Martinez and Soloman Howard. 

A Capitol Fourth Concert & Fireworks

Saturday, July 4, 2020: 7 – 9 pm

A Capitol Fourth concert and fireworks, a national tradition, normally takes place on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC. The program also will include a tribute to the first responders, health professionals, grocery store workers and truck drivers, scientists and mail carriers, who are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 crisis; a segment honoring the contributions of African American heroes past and present; and a salute to our wounded warriors and their families. 

The fireworks display over our nation’s iconic skyline will be covered live during the broadcast captured by multiple cameras stationed around the city.

Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks

Saturday, July 4, 2020: 7 – 9 pm

Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Show will feature “a spectacular display choreographed to an epic musical score” of pop and patriotic tunes. It also will have a tribute to America’s front-line workers. The event and fireworks display will be broadcast live on NBC.
