Fourth of July celebrations are never complete without endless rounds of delicious desserts – here are some patriotic, kid-approved treats that will make your family’s holiday complete!

Spangled Mini Fruit Pizzas

Enjoy a festive treat with a healthy twist!

  • Strawberries, sliced
  • Blueberries
  • 8 oz Cream cheese
  • 1 c. Powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla (optional)
  • Sugar Cookie Dough

Instructions: Bake the sugar cookies according to package directions and set aside to cool. Using a handmixer, whip up a batch of homemade cream cheese by adding a cup of powdered sugar to a block of cream cheese. Adding vanilla is optional but recommended. Once well mixed, spread generously on the sugar cookies. Slice strawberries and place five pieces ontop the cookie in the shape of a star. Fill the center with blueberries. Using leftover frosting, heat in the microwave for 10 seconds until smooth. Dip a spoon into the frosting and drizzle over the cookie. Refrigerate to set and serve chilled.

Four-Berry Fluff Cake

Dig into layers of sweetness with this easy-to-make celebration cake!

  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Blackberries
  • Container of Cool Whip
  • 1 Angel Food Bundt Cake

Instructions: Slice strawberries into bite sized pieces and combine them with the blueberries, blackberries and raspberries in a bowl. Top the berries with a hefty scoop of cool whip and gently fold. Next, slice the Angel Food bundt lengthwise. Depending on the size of your cake, you may have 2-3 layers. Starting with the bottom layer, scoop and gently spread the berry mix evenly around and top with the next cake layer. When all layers are complete, fill the top of the cake with any remaining mix. Serve chilled.

Festive Firework Truffles

These truffles will have your tastebuds celebrating just as much as you!

  • Cake mix – any flavor
  • White Dipping Chocolate
  • Red & Blue Sprinkles

Instructions: Bake a cake of any desired flavor according to the box directions and set aside to cool completely. Once cool, grab a small amount of cake in your hands and roll into a small ball. Repeat until all the cake is rolled. Place the cake balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place them in the freezer for five minutes. After, remove from the freezer and melt the dipping chocolate and stir until smooth. Using a fork or toothpick, carefully dip and coat the cake ball with chocolate. Add a shake of sprinkles to each ball and place in the fridge to set. Enjoy!

Patriotic Poke Cake

Here’s to the red, white and blue and of course, delicious cake, too!

  • Box of White Cake Mix
  • Box of Cherry Jello Mix
  • Box of Blue Raspberry Jello Mix
  • 1 container of Cool Whip
  • Fresh Berries (optional)

Instructions: Bake the cake according to box directions and allow to cool. Using a straw or the end of a wooden spoon, poke holes throughout the top of the cake and set aside. In separate bowls, dissolve each flavor of jello mix and stir well. Spoon each flavor of jello over various areas of the cake. You can make a pattern or do it at random! Refrigerate the cake for four hours to allow the jello to set. Before serving, remove the cake and top with cool whip and fresh berries, cut and serve!

Frozen Fourth Pops

Enjoy a healthy chilly treat to beat the heat!

  • Bananas
  • Maraschino Cherries
  • Can of Whipped Cream
  • White Dipping Chocolate
  • Blue Food Dye
  • Sprinkles

Instructions: Cut a banana into thirds, making three decent-bite size pieces. Place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze. Next, melt your dipping chocolate and add a few drops of blue dye to reach the desired shade. Remove the bananas from the freezer and dip one end of each into the chocolate and roll in the sprinkles. Return the bananas to the freezer. Before serving, top each banana with a poof of whipped cream and top with a cherry.

Salty & Sweet Pretzel Nibbles

These bite size pieces are the perfect treat for an active fourth!

  • Red & Blue M&Ms
  • Hershey Hug Chocolates
  • Square Mini Pretzels

Instructions: Line the pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Unwrap and place one Hershey Hug on top of each pretzel. Place in the oven at 250° for two minutes or until the chocolate in semi-soft. Remove and press one M&M onto the treat. Pop the tray into the freezer for ten minutes. Enjoy nibbling on something salty, sweet and festive!

Bomb Pop Cookies

While cleverly disguised as a favorite childhood chilly treat, this cookie will head off with a bang!

  • Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Blue Food Dye
  • Red Food Dye
  • Pop Rock Candy Packets

Instructions: Separate the cookie dough into three sections. Using the food coloring, make one part blue and another red. Take a small spoonful of each dough color and combine on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and form them in the shape of a rocket. Sprinkle pop rock candy on each cookie and bake according to dough directions. Blast off!

Bam Salsa & Cinna Chips

With chips and salsa so yummy, the kid’s won’t realize it’s healthy!

  • Strawberries, diced
  • Blueberries
  • Red onion, diced
  • Jicama, peeled & diced
  • Lime
  • Cilantro (optional)
  • Salt
  • Tortillas
  • Butter
  • Sugar & Cinnamon Blend

Instructions: Wash and cut all produce and toss into a bowl. Squeeze a fresh cut lime over the blend and garnish with cilantro and salt to taste and refrigerate. The flavors will deliciously blend while you prepare the chips. Melt butter in the microwave and lightly brush over a tortilla. Sprinkle with a sugar and cinnamon blend, cut into wedges and bake at 350°for five minutes. Turn each chip over, brush with butter and sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon blend and bake for an additional five minutes. Serve alongside the salsa and dig in!

Fresh Fruit Kabobs

Enjoy simple fresh fruit with festive flair!

  • Bananas
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries

Instructions: This one is super easy and great to ask the kiddos to help with. Simply peel and cut the bananas into bite sized pieces, chunk up the strawberries and layer them with the blueberries on a bamboo skewer. For a chilly treat, freeze the kabobs for five minutes before serving or serve with sweet cream cheese dip, fruit fluff or cool whip!

Layered Celebration Slushies

Take your slushie from chill to cool with three bold flavors!

  • Bottle of Cran-Apple Juice
  • Bottle of G2 Blueberry Gatorade
  • Bottle of Pina Colada SoBE

Instructions: Using three ice cube trays, designate a tray for each flavor and freeze overnight. Add one flavor of ice cubes to a blender and mix until the desired slushies consistency and repeat. Layer the slushie in a glass in red, white and blue form. Sip away!
