Santa Arrives by Helicopter at EAA’s Christmas in the Air Event

EAA’s Christmas in the Air is a holiday tradition stretching back 37 years to when the EAA Aviation Museum first open in Oshkosh in 1984. It was created as a “thank you” to the Oshkosh area for the support of EAA. Each year, approximately 5,000 people – especially families – come to the museum for the event as part of their own annual holiday fun.

The museum takes on a new personality for the event, with lights and decorations galore to complement the nearly 100 aircraft on display in the museum. A popular stop is the KidVenture area, with many hands-on displays that highlight all kinds of aviation science. And be sure to learn more about Aviore, EAA’s own Stan Lee-created superhero, who triumphs over evil through aviation!

Musical groups also include everything from local middle and high school ensembles to special guests such as the Oshkosh Suzuki Music groups and the Fox Valley Sweet Adelines. If you’re looking to get into the holiday mood, it’s the perfect place to start!
